Joel's career begun in fashion, working as a Graphic Designer on retail accounts - JC Penney, Spiegel and Montgomery Ward. Next he landed a title of Art Director at Hakuhodo Advertising America, Inc. where he worked on electronic, computer and communication accounts - He's worked on branding accounts like NEC, Canon, Kyocera, Star Micronics, Hitachi, Konica, Casio and Ricoh.

He helped launch the US/Japan campaign for All Nippon Airways, which included TV, print and sales promotion. His passion for golf came to fruition when he became the creative art director for 2 PGA events – The Canon Greater Hartford Open and The NEC World Series of Golf where he supervised corporate sponsorship and event promotions. His broad experience in consumer accounts included Kobayashi’s BeKoool cold relief medicine, Mentholatum skin and lip care products, Synergy Fitness Clubs, Kirin Beer, Oreck appliances, Fuji Bank & Trust and Yasuda Fire & Marine Insurance, Corp. 

He won numerous awards - The ADDY, The Telly, ICON and The New York Festivals. He was also a long time contributing art director for the John Caples Awards. In 2003, He joined McCaffery, Ratner Gottlieb & Lane LLC where he worked on Nature’s Best, The Oyster Bar and Restaurant, Pennsylvania Power & Lighting Corp., General Electric – Monogram Series appliances, Sensuede fabrics and Bluefly.com. From 2010 to 2014, Joel held a Senior Art Director title at UMarketing where he worked on Pisco Porton, Pennsylvania Power & Lighting Corp., My Suit and Manischewitz. 

 

Today while running Creative Top Dog,  Joel is also busy consulting for ad agencies, tv production groups, and managing his own clients. He is in tuned with Adobe's graphic and motion Creative Cloud softwares.
